The Racine (WI) Journal-Times, which covers the Milwaukee Bucks, reports the Nets heavily scouted Ersan Ilyasova at season's end and are now considered "front-runners for his services."
Gery Woefel, a Bucks beat reporter, writes: "While the Bucks want to retain Ilyasova, it’s unclear whether the feeling is mutual. That’s why some NBA officials believe the New Jersey Nets — who scouted Ilyasova rather extensively late in the season — are the front-runners for his services."
Woefel also reports, "The scuttlebutt is Ilyasova will command at least $8 million a season. That’s a nice little increase over his salary of $2.5 million this season." Others believe the number for the 6'10" power forward could be as high as $10 million. Ilyasova, 25, is one of the few PF's available in this year's free agent class.
Sam Amico of FOX Sports confirms the Nets are the leading contender for Ilyasova, but adds that 12 teams are interested in the 6'10" Turk.
