In an interview with a German sports site, Andrei Kirilenko talked about how he wants to return to the NBA, believing he has "three or four years of highest-level basketball left", and how much he respects and admires Mikhail Prokhorov.

In the interview, AK-47 spoke of Prokhorov's decision to buy the Nets and his presidential bid. "Pretty sure that he sees the perspective for the club and for the team. I know that business-wise he is always trying to bring the best management possible for his assets. I do know him pretty well, have all the respect towards him and support his decision to try himself on Russian presidential elections."

Kirilenko, who the Nets were talking to before they felt a need to trade for Mehmet Okur, has been having an MVP type season in the Euroleague with CSKA Moscow, Prokhorov's old team. CSKA is once again in the Final Four, having won Friday night with the help of AK-47's 23 point, 8 rebound effort. Earlier in the playoffs, Prokhorov sat courtside as CSKA beat Moscow.
