It was an odd moment, made even odder by the circumstances. Ian Eagle took issue Saturday with some of what Mike Fratello had said earlier, accusing him, perhaps sarcastically, perhaps not, of being "patronizing" towards him and referring to his analysis as "gobbledygook." Fratello seemed taken aback.
To make things worse, it was Fratello's last game of the season and perhaps with the Nets, period. His contract with YES is up and he was open in expressing his disappointment that the Nets are leaving his home state. In the post game show, the two seemed to make peace, with Eagle saying he had been kidding and wishing Fratello well. Still, as two bloggers note, it was at the far end of awkward.
