The latest power rankings were, for the most part, written after the Brook Lopez injury (and Deron Williams' master performance) but before the announcement that Lopez suffered a severe ankle sprain, but not new damage to his foot. So things may be a little skewed.
Marc Stein puts the Nets at #22, up three positions; John Schuhman has them at #25, up two. Why the uptick? The Nets have won four of their last five road games. The close call against the Bobcats followed solid wins over the Bulls, Knicks and Mavericks. That's called progress.
