Nets Bringing Back Dennis Horner

Dennis Horner, the Springfield Armor power forward who won a roster spot in training camp, will rejoin the Nets Friday, the beneficiary of the team's continuing string of injuries. Horner will take the 15th roster spot created when Jerry Smith was sent back to Springfield this week.

Horner played limited minutes in five games during his first turn with the Nets, but is likely to get more time now with Shelden Williams hospitalized with what is apparently a serious eye injury and Jordan Williams suffering a mild concussion. Both were injured in Wednesday night's game.

Ridiculous Upside reports the team will sign Horner Friday, just prior to the Warriors game, to take full advantage of his 10-day contract.

The Linwood, N.J. native and North Carolina State product had his best D-League game Monday when he scored 29 points on 10-for-15 shooting and hauled in 15 rebounds. Horner also hit three of his four attempts from deep and six of eight from the line in the win. He's averaging 17 points and 8.5 rebounds, while shooting 37.3% from deep in 25 D-League games.
