The Nets will be without three backcourt players they had their last game when they face the Jazz Monday night. Jordan Farmar, who has battled right groin issues most of the season, and Anthony Morrow, who suffered a bruised right shoulder Saturday, are out. Jerry Smith, who had been on a 10-day contract, was not renewed and has returned to Springfield, the Armor announced.
The Nets say Farmar's status will be updated next Thursday, meaning he'll miss at least the next six games. Morrow is day-to-day. Smith can be recalled at any time.
The losses leave the Nets with the starting backcourt of Deron Williams and Marshon Brooks along with Sundiata Gaines. Both Gerald Wallace and Gerald Green can play at the two guard, with Wallace even capable of playing some point.
