The Nets announced Friday morning that Brook Lopez will be out at least two more weeks and then be reevaluated.
Billy King told reporters that a CT scan revealed a "very, very small" line on the fracture that Lopez suffered in the preseason. "The doctors noticed a little line that’s healing but hasn’t completely healed.”
Lopez returned from foot surgery on Feb. 19. He played five games before spraining his ankle, and has missed 10 games since. Another two weeks of recovering will keep Lopez out another nine games. And after that, the Nets will have just 10 games left in the season. King also raised the possibility that Lopez could be the fifth Net to suffer a season-ending injury.
“It’s just we’re protecting a young fella that has a long career ahead of him,” King said. Lopez said he had no pain in his foot.
