Gerald Wallace, in his first meeting with Nets media, said he is "still deciding" on whether to pick up his player option for next season. Wallace, who makes $9.5 million this season without incentives, could make the same amount next season if he doesn't exercise the option. Wallace admitted the trade "came as a surprise."

"We're still deciding on that," Wallace said of the player option. "We're figuring it out, seeing how things go. Right now, we're just concentrating on finishing out the season, trying to make the playoffs, and we'll go from there."

ESPN has reported that the Nets might consider offering Wallace, who turns 30 in the off-season, a longer term contract but with a lower salary this summer. There's been no confirmation of those reports.
