Smith Hits Game Winner for Armor

Looks like the Armor are emulating their parent club in at least one regard. Jerry Smith beat two defenders and buried the game-winning shot as time expired Friday to propel the Armor to a 98-96 victory over the Iowa Energy before a crowd of nearly 4,000 in Springfield. The game put the Armor within a half game of Iowa in the D-League East

In a game that featured 18 lead changes and 11 ties, Iowa turned the ball over with 3.9 seconds to play. On the next possession, Smith took an inbounds pass, shook a pair of defenders and scored the game winner. The 6'2" Smith who's playing the best ball of anyone in the D-League, finished with a game high 28 points and team-highs in rebounds (7), assists (5) and steals (5). Dennis Horner added 19.
