Perhaps the best indicator of the success of the Nets experiment in Springfield is what happened Thursday night. The Armor won their fourteenth game of the season, putting the team over .500 but more importantly setting a franchise record for wins. In its first two seasons, without Net help, they were 7-43 and 13-37!
The Nets have had other success with the Armor, picking up Dennis Horner earlier in the season and getting Jordan Williams 192 minutes in the D-League, helping him get acclimated to NBA life. On Thursday, behind Jerry Smith's 27 points and 11 rebounds, the Armor beat the Sioux Falls Skyforce handily, taking the lead in the first quarter and never relinquishing it.
