The Nets signed Gerald Green to a 10-day contract Monday, permitting them to try Green out while maintaining the flexibility to drop him days before the trade deadline. The Nets worked out Green last week.
Green was MVP of the D-League All-Star Game Thursday with 28 points, including several spectacular dunk. For the season, Green is averaging 19.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and shooting 48 percent overall and 46.1 percent from deep. His best year in the NBA came in his second year when he averaged 10.1 points in 81 games for the Celtics. He last played a regular season game in the NBA three years ago.
