The Nets announced Tuesday afternoon that Shawne Williams will undergo surgery Wednesday to remove a bone fragment in his left foot. An official timetable for his return will be announced after the surgery. He reportedly sustained the injury before he signed with the Nets in December.
Williams has played in 25 games this season, shooting just 28 percent from the field and 24 percent from three-point range. His last game was Feb. 11 against the Spurs. He is the fourth Net to undergo foot surgery this season, following Brook Lopez, Damion James and Keith Bogans.
