Anthony Morrow will join Deron Williams, MarShon Brooks and three Springfield Armor players at All-Star Weekend, finally getting an invite to the game's three-point shooting contest.
"I’m really excited man – ecstatic,’’ Morrow said in a telephone interview this afternoon with Colin Stephenson. "This morning my agent called me and told me they’re going to invite me. I’m really excited, and thankful for the opportunity.’’
Deron Williams, of course, is an All-Star reserve. Brooks will play in the Rising Stars Challenge. JamesOn Curry and Jerry Smith, who were in training camp with the Nets, along with Jeff Foote, will play in the D-League Game.
Morrow has long wanted to test his mettle in the contest. He has the second best career three-point shooting percentage in NBA history, only percentage points behind Steve Kerr. Morrow is hitting 42 percent from 3-point range this season. He hit a career-high eight triples and scored a career-high 42 points in a Feb. 3 loss to Minnesota.
