Fenerbahce of Istanbul spent a lot of money this summer in hopes of matching up with perennial Euroleague powerhouses like F.C. Barcelona and Real Madrid. It hasn't worked. Injuries and inconsistencies have hurt but there is also a talent gap that was never more evident than on Friday night when F.C. Barcelona destroyed Fenerbahce, 100-78, in Barcelona.
The only bright spot again was Euro-Net Bojan Bogdanovic who continued his hot shooting in big games. The 6'8" Croatian swingman was 6-for-12 overall and 2-for-3 from three point range. He was also 5-for-5 from the line. Although the game was never in doubt, Bogdanovic on more than one occasion tried to get his team back into with baskets at crucial times.
His numbers for the year, combined Euroleague and Turkish League are 54.4 percent on two-pointers, 40.5 percent from three and 75.8 percent at the line. Ilkan Karaman did not play.
