Nets offer more clarity on Brook Lopez's foot injury

Good news from both the doctor and patient.

The Nets released a statement from team orthopedic surgeon Riley Williams III on Friday morning, offering more clarity on the condition of Brook Lopez's right foot, which he sprained in Wednesday's win in Boston.

"The area of Brook’s previous fracture at the 5th metatarsal bone was unremarkable, and unchanged compared to prior films," the doctor said in the statement.

Avery Johnson said at shootaround in Orlando that Lopez is "out of the woods" in regard to the injury being serious. Lopez, who will be reevaluated in New York on Monday, says he's already feeling better.

After the Nets return home from Florida, they have a four-game homestand, beginning with the Thunder on Tuesday.

"I was definitely concerned," Lopez said. "Once we went through, checked it out and evaluated it, we were just thankful it wasn't in the same spot."
