There were more reports of delays getting into Barclays Center Sunday when the Harlem Globetrotters event was postponed for an hour. This follows delays, for whatever reason, at most if not all of Jay-Z's concerts. Although the concerts were scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., most started considerably later.
Meanwhile (or not), arena critic Norman Oder reports that the arena security director Bob Sena confirmed on Friday, that he had left his job, less than a week after the official opening. Oder quoted an email from Sena that attributed his departure to personal reasons. "I can't really elaborate other than to say I left for personal reasons ... I'm proud that I was able to help develop what I believe to be a first class Security program of what is mostly a local workforce."
The biggest complaint, at the season ticket holder open house, the Jay-Z concert and the Globetrotter event, was the delay going through the metal detectors at the arena entrances. Such extensive security measures are unusual at local venues.
