One Small Step for Brooklyn, One Giant Step for Nets

Tell us about those sightlines! The Nets get their first look at the main court inside their new home Sunday when they travel to the corner of Atlantic and Flatbush in Brooklyn. While they smiled and posed for the cameras at Media Day Monday, that was on the Practice Court off the main entrance at Barclays Center. This time, they will be the court where they will face the Knicks on November 1.

There's a lot of issues to be worked out from locker room space to video at the arena, Rod Boone reports. "We need those three preseason games in the building, get used to the crowd, get used to going to the game," he said. "We've got to figure out whether some guys are going to spend the afternoons in a hotel."

"We need those three preseason games in the building, get used to the crowd, get used to going to the game," Avery Johnson said. "We've got to figure out whether some guys are going to spend the afternoons in a hotel."

Howard Beck writes about how the practice is a big deal in the team's development as well. A week into the training camp, he notes how the team is focusing on defense, how the off-season acquisitions have made them more athletic and more capable of getting up and down the court. how the rotation is being tinkered with. Beck calls the Nets "a team that is essentially brand-new and evolving by the day."

The Nets are basically off Saturday, with the players, coaches and staff encouraged to bring their families to the PNY Center for Family Day. @BrooklynNets has a series of images from the morning's events.
