Friday Night Lights: Brooklyn Nets Scrimmage For First Time Tonight

Brooklyn Nets

The sides are set for Friday night's scrimmage, training camp's first. The rosters were decided by a draft ... after Avery Johnson made sure that Brooklyn's Backcourt gets as much time together as possible. The two teams are named for the team's colors.

The White Team: Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Josh Childress, Mirza Teletovic, Andray Blatche, Keith Bogans, Stephen Dennis and James Mays. Tyshawn Taylor (quad strain) will be on the sidelines, the only Net not healthier enough to play.

The Black Team: C.J. Watson, Marshon Brooks, Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Brook Lopez, Toko Shengelia, Carleton Scott, Reggie Evans and Jerry Stackhouse.

Popeye Jones is coaching the white team. Mario Elie is coaching the black. Avery Johnson will be watching.

While the White has (arguably) the best backcourt in the NBA, according to the Nets, the Black has the height and rebounding prowess. Plan is for Nets to get in three hard quarters of action with typical NBA rules during tomorrow's scrimmage. No media will be permitted inside the PNY Center. So no streaming, no tweeting from inside.

It's a big weekend for the Nets, with Sunday's practice their first on the Barclays Center floor.
