Deron Williams: "My ankle feels like new!"

Jim O'Connor-US PRESSWIRE

In the same interview where he talked about the Nets practice facility being damaged (and that Tyshawn Taylor is still marooned in his Hoboken apartment), Deron Williams spoke as well about his ankle and tried to dismiss worse case scenarios while at the same time seeming to disclose that his inflammation, synovitis, is due to bone spurs.

"The majority of athletes have bone spurs that they deal with at some point in their career," D-Will said, casually introducing the bone spur issue. "I don’t know if I’ll have to have surgery. I’m just saying that might be something that happens after the season but as far as right now my ankle feels like new after the shots. Hopefully, I won’t have to have any surgery at all."

Williams said he understood the rationale behind the postponement, noting that aside from Taylor, other teammates have been evacuated, lost cars or homes and been without power.
