The Nets and the rest of the basketball operations staff were planning to visit the 9-11 Memorial on Monday to honor those lost in the 2001 terrorist attack, but due to the threat posed by Hurricane Sandy have postponed their trip. The group were to be at the Memorial from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. and meet with principals of the Memorial as well as first responders and their families.

Billy King had earlier tweeted that he and the team are looking forward to the visit. For most of the team, the attacks are a childhood memory. Members of the 2001-02 team had a clear view of the events at the World Trade Center from the team's training facility that morning.
