The Nets announced Tuesday morning that they have waived training camp invite Stephen Dennis. The 25-year-old point guard played in three of the Nets' five preseason games, shooting 1-for-4 in 21 total minutes.
The Nets' roster is down to 17, and must be at 15 by 5 p.m. Monday. Carleton Scott and James Mays remain as training camp invites, while Andray Blatche and Josh Childress are also on non-guaranteed deals. Normally, Dennis' D-League rights would go to the Springfield Armor, but in this case, the Bakersfield Jam owns them.
Over the past few days, former Nets Sundiata Gaines (Pacers), Armon Johnson (Magic), Chris Douglas-Roberts (Lakers) and Terrence Williams (Pistons) have also been waived by their respective teams.
