Fenerbahce likes to use Bojan Bogdanovic as their sixth man, an energy guy who can put numbers on the board. But Friday night in Slovenia, teh 6'8" guard was pressed into service as a starter. Romain Sato, the former Spur, was detained by Slovenian border police who claimed his Central African Republic passport was false.
Bogdanovic quickly proved he can score quickly as a starter as well as a reserve. The Euro-Net pounced early, scoring 11 points in the first quarter, putting Fener up 22-15. Bogdanovic finished with 14 points on 4-for-8 shooting, including 2-for-5 from deep and his Turkish club beat Union Olimpija, 79-71, for their second win in Euroleague competition. Bogdanovic's teams have run off 10 straight wins since August, five in Eurobasket and now five in Euroleague and Turkish League competition.
Fener's other Euro-Net, Ilkan Karaman, played sparingly. After being inserted into the lineup in the second quarter, he quickly hit a three but then picked up three fouls. He played only 3:39 in the contest.
