After the game, we walked through Trump Plaza Scattered among the slots and tables was a large contingent of fans in black and white, exhausted but thrilled by what they saw next door. We figure a number of them got lucky. It was that king of night.

Nets survive OT to beat Sixers in AC
The Brooklyn Nets' first game was a thriller. They blew an 18-point lead, but managed to come back in overtime to pull out a 108-105 preseason victory over the 76ers in A.C. Brook Lopez led the way with 19 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.

Boardwalk Empire Beckons for Nets
Steve Buscemi, who plays Nucky Thompson in HBO's "Boardwalk Empire," was born and raised (and still lives) in Brooklyn. We take that as a sign the Nets will do well vs. 76ers Saturday. Avery Johnson likes what he sees so far out of his players.

"Brooklyn Nets" Debut vs. 76ers in Atlantic City
For the first time in NBA history, a team with the word, "Brooklyn" across their chests will take the floor, ironically in New Jersey. The Brooklyn Nets will take the court at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City Saturday, facing the Philadelphia 76ers.
