Nets Pick Up Easy Win Over Bobcats

Despite the temperature and shooting background at the Prudential Center, Deron Williams and the Nets picked up their second home win of the season on Sunday, beating the Bobcats 97-87.

The Nets took control with a 9-0 run midway through the first quarter and led by 16 at the half. They went cold in the third quarter and allowed the Bobcats to creep within seven, but they quickly opened the game back up and led by as many as 19 in the fourth before holding on for a 10-point victory.

The Nets shot just 44 percent from the field, but were 14-for-15 from the line and outrebounded the Bobcats 47-34.

MarShon Brooks led the Nets with 20 points on 9-for-17 shooting. Williams scored 11 points in the first quarter and finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists, one rebound shy of his first career triple-double. Anthony Morrow (19 points) and Jordan Farmar (13) each had big games off the bench.
