On the first day of practice and fresh off signing a $6.15 million, two year deal, Shawne Williams hurt his ankle and by over compensating to ease the pain is now in a situation where he knows he won't ever be 100 per cent this season. In fact he may have to undergo surgery in mid-season.
"This is going to be a roller-coaster, up and down, sit out there, sit out there, if it starts affecting my right side, (surgery) is something I’m going to have get done ASAP, as soon as possible," Williams told Stefan Bondy. "But I’m going to have to try to truck through it as long as possible because I know the team probably needs me." He's out until at least Tuesday this go-around.
