Isles Preseason Game in Brooklyn?

B. D. Gallof of WFAN and Hockey Independent reports the Islanders are in discussions with Nets management about playing a preseason game this fall at Barclays Center. The Islanders are looking at alternatives to Nassau Coliseum which everyone admits is outmoded.

Bruce Ratner and Brett Yormark have met with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman about the possibility of the Isles moving to Brooklyn at the end of their lease with Nassau County followingt the 2015 season.

One advantage for the Islanders is that the LIRR's Atlantic Terminal is around the corner from the arena. A disadvantage is that the arena's capacity for hockey games is believed to be no more than 14,500.
