Broussard: Brooklyn Nets Remain Howard's Top Option Right Now

There's no stopping speculation in the Dwightmare. Chris Broussard was on ESPN Monday offering his thoughts on which team would be the best fit for Dwight Howard He said Dallas might be the best fit following this summer, but he also admitted the Nets are Howard's top choice now.

"His first choice is New Jersey/Brooklyn," Broussard said. "He loves the business opportunities Brooklyn will provide when they go there next season. He loves Deron Williams. They want to play together. They've been talking. But he also realizes that just Deron and himself in New Jersey...that team probably isn't any better than the team he's on now in Orlando."

Meanwhile, Knicks fans are all spun up over a rumor that New York is offering Amare Stoudemire for Howard, which Frank Isola puts down by noting the Magic aren't interested in trading for a player whose knees can't be insured. And in Chicago, they still get over the rejection of not being included on Howard's list of preferred destinations.

Broussard: "His first choice is New Jersey/Brooklyn. He loves the business opportunities Brooklyn will provide when they go there next season. He loves Deron Williams. They want to play together. They've been talking. But he also realizes that just Deron and himself in New Jersey...that team probably isn't any better than the team he's on now in Orlando. He's looking at Miami and he's looking at Chicago saying, 'Can we beat those guys?' So overall, the best situation might be Dallas. where if Deron WIlliams and Dwight were to go there in the summer as free agents, and the Mavericks are trying to clear cap space for both of them, you team there with Dirk Nowitzki who's still got a few years left ... He's at the Kobe Bryant stage of his career. Tht's a team that could win a championship."
