MarShon Brooks is back at Providence College, where he started taking classes Wednesday. He's also working out and training. In a tweet after weight training Thursday, the Nets pick disclosed his goal for the coming season: "Been in that weightroom with one thing on my mind....ROY" That's Rookie of the Year.
Of course, all rookies have (or should have) that as a goal, but Brooks is one of the few who would admit it publicly. The lowest pick to be named Rookie of the Year was Mark Jackson, taken #18 in 1987. Brooks was drafted at #25 by the Celtics and traded to the Nets.
