Comeback Fails, Croatia Eliminated

Last season, Bojan Bogdanovic was the second highest scorer in the Euroleague and MVP of the NLB League, the top teams in the former Yugoslavia. More than one draft pundit called him a "steal" but his inconsistency is a big reason why Croatia, a Eurobasket favorite, is out of the tournament.

After scoring 27 points in the opener five days ago, his production slowly declined until Monday when he scored only four points, all in the fourth quarter, as Greece sent Croatia home with a 2-3 record.  Croatia fell behind early and mounted a strong comeback but never got closer than three...with Bogdanovic missing two key three pointers in the last three minutes. He'll next play for Fenerbache in the Turkish League.

After the game, it was announced that Team Croatia's coach, Joke Vrankovic, would not be returning, that his contract was not renewed.
