Croatia is 2-1 in FIBA Eurobasket play after Saturday's win over Montenegro, but Bojan Bogdanovic played only a small role. The Nets second round pick scored only six points, all in the first half, on 3-for-5 shooting (0-for-2 on three's). Late in the game, Croatian coach Josip Vranković benched Bogdanovic, who played two minutes in the fourth.
One reason may have been the stellar play of Ante Tomic, the Reds' 7'2" center who scored 26 as his teammates repeatedly found him open underneath, and Marco Popovic, who filled in for Bogdanovic and hit seven three pointers. Tomic, whose rights are held by the Jazz, did his damage against Nikola Pekovic of the T-wolves and Nikola Vucevic, drafted by the 76ers in June.
