In an interview with the Jerusalem Post, Jordan Farmar says he passed up offers from European teams and at least one other Israeli team to play for perennial Euroleague powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv.
"I thought that if I would go anywhere Maccabi would be my first choice," Farmar told the Post. I didn’t want to cause any inconvenience or take a lot of money or anything like that."
Farmar added that if and when the lockout ends, he's ready to return, but added that as player rep for the Nets he gets daily reports from the union. "There’s a big gap between the owners and the players. It’s still going to be some time before we figure it out."
