Armor Hold Open Tryouts Oct. 22-23

The Springfield Armor will hold open tryouts for the 2011-12 season on Oct. 22-23 at Springfield College  The local tryouts will be limited to the first 125 registrants. The tryouts are the last step in the D-League stocking process before the draft in the first week of November. National tryouts, in L.A. and Chicago, are this weekend.

Open tryouts allow players to showcase their talents and be evaluated by the Armor coaching staff while competing to earn a spot in the Armor’s training camp starting right after the draft. The Armor have a strong track record of finding players through open tryouts. Five players have made the Armor’s opening night roster through open tryouts.

Springfield College, located at 263 Alden St. in Springfield, is where Dr. James Naismith invented the game. Registration fee for the tryout is $150 if paid October 19, $200 if paid after that date.
