Rick Adelman said he wanted to take some time off after his gig with the Rockets but the lure of a young team (and as much as $25 mllion) lured him to Minnesota and he beat out Nets' assistant Sam Mitchell for the T'wolves job. It had been reported that Mitchell, Adelman and Don Nelson were leading candidates.
It's likely Mitchell will now return to New Jersey, where he was Avery Johnson's lead assistant last season. The Nets are still waiting on John Loyer who has reportedly been offered an assistant's job under Lawrence Frank in Detroit. The Nets also have a vacancy opened up with Larry Krystkowiak left the team to take the head coach job at the University of Utah. P.J. Carlesimo has been mentioned for that job.
