The Nets are honoring the 10th anniversary of September 11 by sending 200 "care packages" to U.S. troops, many from Brooklyn and New Jersey, stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The packages were assembled by Nets employees, including the Nets Dancers and team mascot Sly, on Friday at the PNY Center.
The packages include Nets gear as well as shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, tissues, adhesive bandages, and antibacterial wipes. The operation was directed by Michele Alongi, Nets' community relations director.
