MarShon Brooks wasn't at the Nike Pro-City Tournament Tuesday night, but Sundiata Gaines was and he led his Franchise team to the tourney finals with a 39-point performance, according to a tweet from Dime's Martin Kessler.
Gaines, recovering from a broken hip suffered last March, was able to help Franchise mount a comeback in the second quarter and then roll over United Brooklyn at the end. Gaines, whose contract for next season is guaranteed, will now play in the title game against Dyckman/NYAC Thursday night.
Brooks, who scored 48 for Dyckman three weeks ago, will not play in that game either, according to his agent. He's in Chicago taking some business meetings.
