MarShon Brooks tweeted Monday that he'll be back in New York and playing for the Dyckman/NYAC team in the Nike Pro-City Tournament championships, which begin a week from Tuesday.
"Picking up in baruch during the playoffs..." Brooks tweeted.
The Nike Pro-Am championships run August 9 - August 11 at Baruch College's Athletic and Recreation Center, 55 Lexington Avenue (at 24th Street) in Manhattan. The semi-finals next Tuesday start at 6:30 p.m. and the finals at 7 p.m. on Thursday. In his Nike Pro-City debut two weeks ago, Brooks scored 48 points on 17 for 32 shooting, adding five steals, four rebounds and an assist.
Brooks also posted a video of him visiting a camp in upstate New York, talking to youngsters. Asked if he was mad about the lockout, he responded, "Honestly its hard to get mad after you've been drafted. A couple years ago, I was in that same exact seat asking questions like this. So it's hard to be mad when you've lived out a life long dream."
