Nets Planning New Training Facility Beyond Brooklyn Practice Court

Looks like Mikhail Prokhorov isn't done spending on the Nets.

Buried in Stefan Bondy's blog item on the beat reporters' tour of the Barclays Center site was this nugget:

"Now they have a new arena with a practice court, a training facility in East Rutherford and another training facility that the Nets plan to build for the 2013-14 season (emphasis added). Billy King said the team will continue to use the East Rutherford facility for practice in 2012-13."

Al Iannazzone writes King said many factors will go into where the Nets build their new BB HQ , and until they move, they'll continue to practice in East Rutherford. There have long been whispers about the Nets wanting a new training facility beyond the Brooklyn practice court. The Barclays Center blueprints don't show much room for basketball operations offices, with only KIng and Avery Johnson getting small spaces near the locker room.

Indeed, King didn't provide any specifics, whether it would be located in New York or New Jersey, in a urban or suburban setting. It should be noted that the Cavaliers have both a practice court at Quicken Loans Arena and a full-scale training facility in suburban Independence, Ohio ...designed by Ellerbe Becket, the same firm that's the main architect for Barclays Center.
