It wasn't that long ago that the Nets took control of the BrooklynNets.com url, long held by web programmer, and redirected traffic to the Barclays Center site. Now the Nets have set up a blog at BrooklynNets.com, featuring iconic locations, events, culture. etc. in the borough to welcome fans to their new home. It's the first time the team has used the website other than to direct traffic to the arena site.
The Nets explained why a blog...
On September 28th, 2012, Brooklyn will become the official home of NETS Basketball. The most populous of New York’s five boroughs, Brooklyn is home to nearly 2.6 million others as well. It is a borough rich in culture, and diversity. And while Brooklyn is well-known for its history, the future is bright.
Through this blog, we will get to know our future home. From its many neighborhoods, to its notable monuments, museums, parks, and restaurants, we’ll explore it all.
So without further ado, welcome to Brooklyn.
And so much for the mystery of what the team name will be when the Nets make the official announcement this fall. The Nets are also highlighting a comment Larry King made about the Nets on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night. King is one of several native Brooklynites who are doing promotions for the Nets and Barclays Center.
