Report: Williams Dumps Agent, Likely To Sign Soon With LeBron's Firm

Deron Williams has dumped his long time agent, Bob MacLaren, and may sign with Leon Rose of CAA, who represents among others, LeBron JamesWord that Williams had dumped McLaren came when reporters noticed Williams was no longer listed as a client on McClaren's website. Then later came word that D-Will may sign with Rose.

Williams is expected to sign with CAA, a source told Brian T. Smith of the Salt Lake Tribune, "with the hope that Rose's star power will help bring top-tier talent to Brooklyn, which is where the Nets are expected to move for the 2011-12 season."

If Rose does become D-Will's agent, it won't be the first time he and Billy King have done business. Rose was Allen Iverson's agent when Iverson was with the 76ers.

Five weeks ago, McLaren told the Times how "excited" Williams has been with the Nets so far and added, "I think he wants to be a part of it."  Williams was McClaren's only NBA client and his biggest. Williams will have to wait at least 14 days from the time he told McLaren of his decision before hiring a new agent.

On Monday, Al Iannazzone reported that Kris Humphries had dumped Dan Fegan as his agent, joining Marc Cornstein.
