Although Nets officials have said they expect Bojan Bogdanovic to join the Nets in Brooklyn in 2012-13, he tells a Croatian website: "I will certainly do the two year contract with Fenerbahce, and then we'll see. I want to play in Europe, even thrive. There is time for the NBA ."
Bogdanovic said he was "stoked" about being taken by the Nets, noting that Drazen Petrovic and Zoran Planinic had played in New Jersey. Bogdanovic and Planinic are teammates on the Croatian national team and were born in the same small city.
Meanwhile, Danko Cvjeticanin, the Nets' international scout, tells another Croatian website that Bogdanovic was a target from the start of Draft Night.
