Avery: "In Constant Communication with Deron" on Draft, Other Issues

Avery Johnson, talking with reporters at Tuesday night's Brooklyn Cyclones game, said the the Nets are "going to get our guy"and that ownership and management are in "constant communication" with Deron Williams on a variety of basketball issues, including who they might take in the NBA draft Thursday night.

"Whatever position that is, we're going to need a guy who can come in and contribute 10, 12, 15 minutes next year – because we need depth," said Johnson, reiterating that the team will choose best player available. "We feel we're going to get our player, whether that's another point guard, another center."

Asked if the Nets have talked to Williams about "which players to bring in", Johnson replied, "Absolutely, we're in constant communications with Deron and as a matter of fact, I'm going to visit in him in San Diego next week and spend some time with him."

Johnson added that he would "love to have both [Kris Humphries and Sasha Vujacic] back. They were both really instrumental in a lot of we're all about."
