Jason Kidd talked about the Nets past, present and future Monday in an interview with WFAN's Evan Roberts and Joe Benigno, reminiscing about his time with the club and his hopes that his uniform will be retired at Barclays Center sometime in the future. He also spoke about Deron Williams.

"I'm happy he's with the Nets and he has the opportunity I had," said the NBA champion Mavericks point guard.  "I don't know what he's going to do. I'm going to play a little golf with him this summer and see, but he likes the Nets situation and we'll see what happens."

Asked what his first thought was when he learned he was being shipped to the Nets, Kidd replied, "it was who was on the roster, who was on the team and when I saw it, I thought there was some talented guys and I thought maybe this could be a good situation.  Then when I made the comment that I thought we could win 42 games, people thought I had been out in the desert too long".
