At the end of the regular season, C.J. Miles of the Jazz told reporters that after Deron Williams was traded to New Jersey the two had joked about playing together again on the Nets. Brian T. Smith of the Salt Lake Tribune tweeted back then that Miles had added there was "no recruiting"...no "letter of intent."
But the joke may turn serious soon enough. Smith reported Tuesday that the Jazz are still undecided about picking up the 24-year-old swingman's $3.7 million team option. "The Jazz are expected to wait as long as possible before dealing with his contract, due to a variety of factors," Smith wrote. The Jazz have until June 30 to decide.
Miles averaged career bests in points (12.8), rebounds (3.3) and minutes (25.2),. He had his highest single game scoring (40) too but shot just 32.2 percent behind the 3-point line and 40.7 per cent overall. Plus Gordon Hayward supplanted him in the Jazz rotation at season's end.
