Arena Facade Arrives in Brooklyn

The next stage in the construction of Barclays Center was signaled this weekend with the arrival of a sample panel of the arena's weathered-steel facade.  ASI Limited, the Indiana company that's fabricating and "pre weathering" the panels, set up one of them in a display on Pacific Street in Brooklyn near the arena.

Over 2,800 panels are being processed on ASI's "automated patina line". Once panels are completed, the assembly of larger units will begin.

Installation starts in July. The display will be used for training, says Forest City Ratner.  They have marketing value, too. The team is pushing suite sales and sponsorships and as of June 2, ticket sales to the general public.
