David Stern told reporters before the Draft Lottery that he has no problem with Mikhail Prokhorov entering Russian politics and joked about "how it would help adding a Russian minister to the US Senator already among the owners," according to a tweet from the Nets' Ben Couch at NBA Studios.
Stern also said the Nets "have done about as much as a team can to globalize - travel, play games abroad & have the right attitude," wrote Couch.
Prokhorov announced Monday that he'll likely take over Russia's "Just Cause" Party, a small liberal, pro-business party formed two years ago. Stern was referring to Sen. Herb Kohl (D-WI), the owner of the Bucks. Kohl announced last week that he wouldn't seek re-election in 2012.
