Larry Brown has two reasons to root for the Nets. He was born in Brooklyn and his old GM from the 76ers, Billy King, is now running the show for Mikhail Prokhorov.
"They're in a pretty good position with Billy and Avery and new ownership. I’m just happy for (King). I think he’s great at what he does," said Brown during a taping of CenterStage on YES. "That team, with him and new ownership and Avery, I think that team is going to be pretty special pretty soon. Getting Deron Williams, you don’t get a player like that. Now when you look at the league, if you don’t have a great point guard, it’s pretty tough."
Brown, now 70, is the only coach to ever win an NCAA title and and NBA championship.
