Last summer, the Nets probably would have preferred the extra $3 million in cap space to Kris Humphries' player option. Nearly a year later, they've launched a campaign to promote him as the league's Most Improved Player and a candidate for All-Defensive Team honors.
Al Iannazzone says that "all signs point to the power forward returning" next season as a free agent. "A team source said the Nets expect Humphries to be back, and they will do everything they can to re-sign him," Iannazzone writes.
Humphries seems to like the direction the team is going. "It's all going to hopefully come together in Brooklyn," he said. "Hopefully a lot of us are there to experience that."
