Abbott: Knick Mistake Hard to Admit

ESPN's Henry Abbott reads between the lines of recent articles on the Knicks' ongoing playoff struggles and concludes that Donnie Walsh would rather have traded for Deron Williams, not Carmelo Anthony...but finds it hard to admit.

"The narrative the Knicks have been spinning is that there could have been no better outcome than to land Anthony," writes Abbott. "And that story persists, despite hints from the guy who runs the team that perhaps the Nets got the better deal".

Bottom line, he writes, is that owner James Dolan wanted 'Melo and that was that.
