Were Nets Interested in Z-bo?

Three Shades of Blue, the Grizzlies' blog, reports that Memphis moved quickly this weekend to sign Zach Randolph because other teams, including the Nets, were interested in pursuing him his summer. Randolph will soon sign a four year, $71 million contract, $66 million of which is guaranteed the 29-year-old power forward.

"Z-Bo was iffy coming into the playoffs with a few other teams showing interest in acquiring him including the New Jersey Nets," according to the blog. Three Shades of Blue implied that the Nets preferred the often troubled but very talented Randolph over Kris Humphries.

The Nets wouldn't have been able to sign Randolph till free agency begins in July.
