Deron Williams won a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but had to back out of the FIBA World Championships last year because of that nagging injury to his right wrist. But while practicing at the O2 Arena in London Thursday he said he wants back on Team USA for the London Olympics.
"I love London as a city," said D-Will. "I'll be playing next summer in the Olympics there, so it's a little warm-up for me."
Williams averaged 8.0 points and 2.8 assists in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, backing up his hero, Jason Kidd. He won a gold medal in 2007 at the FIBA Americas Championship and a bronze at FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship, held on Isla Margarita, Venezuela (where Mikhail Prokhorov just finished the jet-skiing portion of his vacation.)
